Establishment of a National Disaster Risk Management Strategy
The investment aims to upgrade the national disaster risk management framework. It concerns Action 16909 of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan “Greece 2.0”, which includes projects such as the modernization of building infrastructure serving operational and training needs, as well as the procurement of modern assets for operational command and coordination.
Development of an Innovative Monitoring and Management System
With this specific investment, Civil Protection is being equipped with modern digital infrastructure and intelligent monitoring systems for the early detection of risks, effective management, and immediate response. It concerns Action 16910 of “Greece 2.0”, which includes projects such as fire detection and fire suppression systems for the protection of archaeological sites.
Aerial Assets for Crisis Management
Through this investment, the national aerial fleet is being strengthened for the prevention and response to natural disasters and other emergency situations. It concerns Action 16911 of “Greece 2.0”, which includes the procurement of helicopters for firefighting, medical use, and personnel transport, as well as unmanned aerial systems (drones) for airborne surveillance.
Firefighting & Wildfire Response Equipment
The investment aims to upgrade the equipment of Civil Protection agencies that work together to protect human life, the environment, property, and infrastructure. It concerns Action 16912 of “Greece 2.0”, which includes a range of procurements such as fire engines and other vehicles, firefighting and rescue vessels, Bailey-type modular bridges, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and more.
